In 1937 while Harry Pace was president of Supreme Liberty Life Insurance Company, He spearheaded the building of 20 new homes in Chicago for African Americans in an "all-white" neighborhood that him and Carl Hansberry had de-segregated in the supreme court case "Hansberry vs. Lee". This court case set the precedent that "restrictive covenants" were unconstitutional.
